Requirements
2 colors of worsted weight cotton
H hook

Square (create 1) with color A

Ch 53

Row 1 Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc next 2 ch, * 2 sc in next ch, sc in next 12 chs * (repeat 3 times) , 2 sc in next ch, sc in next 9 chs TURN (56 sc)

Row 2 Ch 3 (counts as dc here and throughout), dc in next 8 sts, *2 dc in each of the next 2 sts, dc in next 12 sts* repeat 3 times, 2 dc in each of the next 2 sts, dc in next 3 sts TURN (64 dc)

Row 3 Ch 3, dc in next 3 sts, *2 dc in each of the next 2 sts, dc in next 14 sts* repeat 3 times, 2 dc in each of the next 2 sts, dc in next 10 sts TURN (72 dc)

Row 4 Ch 1, sc in first dc and next 9 sts, * 2 sc in next 4 sts, sc in next 14 sts * repeat 3 times, 2 sc in next 4 sts, sc in next 4 sts finish off (88 sc)

Do not sew the ends together as this point as it will be easier to weave the pieces together if you can manipulate the ends of this piece.


Ovals (create 2) with color B

Leaving a long end, ch 59

Row 1 Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 4 chs, 3 sc in next ch, sc in next 28 chs, 3 sc next ch, 1 sc next 23 chs TURN (62 sc)

Row 2 Ch 3 (counts as dc here and throughout), dc in the next 22 sts, 2 dc next st, 3 dc next st, 2 dc next st, dc in next 28 sts; 2 dc next st, 3 dc next st, 2 dc next st, dc in the next 5 sts, TURN (70 dc)

Row 3 Ch 3, dc in the next 5 sts, 2 dc next st, 2 dc next st, 3 dc next st, 2 dc next st, 2 dc next st, dc in the next 30 sts, 2 dc next st, 2 dc next st, 3 dc next st, 2 dc next st, 2 dc next st, dc in the next 24 sts, TURN (82 dc)

Row 4 Ch 1, 1 sc in each of the next 25 sts, 2 sc in each of the next 9 sts, 1 sc in the next 32 sts, 2 sc in each of the next 9 sts, 1 sc in each of the next 7 sts (100 sc)

Finish off, leaving a long tail for sewing and weaving

Weaving:

To weave the sections together, start with the square and one of the ovals, weave so your project looks like this:



Next, weave in the second oval as seen here:


To finish, using the long tails, sew each of the ends of the 3 section together.

Optional: Continuing to use the long ends, sew along the sections to tack them together.
